A Note about the "Reprimand."  Integrity is extremely important to me.  I accepted a reprimand for refusing to abandon my ethical obligation to my clients in a superfund case.  Specifically, in connection with a massive superfund case in which our firm represented the homeowners, I refused to drop the case when our Governor told me that I should  if I knew what was good for my practice - That was years before the Governor went to prison.   As a result of my representation of those clients I  was accused of a number of things including advising a client about a judge's rulings in prior published decisions. Under the Alfred doctrine, I admitted advising my clients of those decisions, but denied any misconduct. The judge in question had dismissed the case in which our firm was representing the homeowners association.  A dismissal that was reversed by our Supreme Court on appeal.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.

  1. Reprimand
    issued in CT, 2007

    updated

A reprimand is an order from the Statewide Grievance Committee after it has found that an attorney has engaged in ethical misconduct. If an attorney receives more than 3 reprimands in 5 years, a presentment must be filed against the attorney so the Superior Court can decide if more serious discipline should be ordered.

Myles’s comment: “I was accused of advising a client about a judge's rulings in prior published decisions. Under the Alford doctrine, I admitted advising my clients of those decisions, but denied any misconduct. The judge in question dismissed a case in which our firm represented 80 families on a superfund site - A dismissal that was reversed by our Supreme Court on appeal.”
