Disbarred for a Reason

I retained Craig Wilson not knowing he had been disbarred. He approached me to handle a case, and, after a few months when I realized he wasn't doing any due diligence on my case, I googled him and called the ABA. He had blown an opportunity for the defendant to settle with me, so I was agog at how s...omeone could mess this up. This was when I made a grim discovery: I discovered multiple disciplinary actions associated with him. I confronted him on the matter, demanded my deposit back, and the excuses started. After a few weeks of this, I then was informed by someone close to the situation that Mr. Wilson was under investigation by the Fraud Unit of the NYPD. I have paperwork to support this claim. I again confronted Mr. Wilson to refund my retainer immediately or I would turn it all over to the detectives in charge of investigating him on the other matter. Then and only then did he commit to returning my retainer. But it STILL wasn't without drama. It took several days of excuses for him to pony up. In short, unless you want to be jerked around, ripped off and lied to by someone who isn't even technically a lawyer anymore, then stay away from this person.
