  • Can a licensed plumber put a lien on your house if you don't pay them?

I had a plumber work on my home and he did not complete the job. I have to hire someone else. I never signed a contract with him. Can he put a lien on my home of I don't pay him for the bad work?

    Mark’s Answer

Yes. The lien must be filed within four months of the last work done and must be properly served. It is valid for one year but may be renewed thereafter one time without court intervention.
