5 years ago, I still remember that day my Immigrant Visa application was denied by the US Embassy in Manila because according to the immigration officer, I had no "petitionable" relationship with my stepmom as I was already above 18 years old when my father and my stepmom got married hence, she is n...ot considered as my stepmom at least under immigration law. Naturally, I was utterly devastated because I just didn't know how to handle the matter.
