An attorney who listens

In the 15+ years since I entered in a divorce settlement with my ex, I have worked with 6 lawyers...and then I found Megha. Megha was the first attorney I worked with that I felt really listened and HEARD me. She was straightforward and honest and rational in her approach. I never felt she was trying... to do something to add to her fees, as I have with other lawyers. We were able to deal with the situation presented to us in a quick, professional manner. And while the settlement was not what I had wanted, it is exactly what Megha predicted would happen, based on the facts of the case. I could not recommend her more highly!

Best Divirce Attorney.

I hired Megha after conducting lot of attorney research for my divorce case. I had a very complex custody situation and the case prolonged for more than 2 years. Megha handled my case very professionally and always has given me the best advice through out. She always listens to the facts and gives a ...candid assessment of the probable outcomes and very factual in terms of advising even though it was not what I wanted to hear at times. She is the best and I would hire her again. I strongly recommend her for complex divorce and custody matters.

Thank you Ms. Thakkar

Thank you Ms. Thakkar. Ms. Thakkar was the third attorney I hired in my contentious, lengthy divorce. I found Ms. Thakkar kept me informed with weekly conference calls through the process, providing me with valuable, cost-effective legal advice, while listening to my concerns. My prior attorneys c...harged me an arm and a leg, while getting me nowhere, likely looking at the substantial assets I had to pay their bills. Meanwhile, Ms. Thakkar provided me with reasonable solutions to the complex issues in my divorce, including distribution of my business, alimony, and custody and parenting time of my two children. Thanks to her, my former spouse and I share equal time with our children, where my prior attorneys did not seem to take me seriously when I voiced my desire to have substantial parenting time as a father. I paid her only a fraction of what I paid each of my prior two attorneys, and ended up with real results. I would recommend her to anyone.

I would recommend Ms. Thakkar to anyone. She handled my case with professionalism and care. She kept me informed and up to date with the whole process. I was very satisfied and felt I have someone on my side I can trust.

Totally Disappointed!!!

The Law Offices of Edward R. Weinstein appointed this so-called “senior” associate attorney (Megha Rasik Thakkar) with merely three years of law-practicing experiences to my case, and the experience is a total disappointment. Instead of being "aggressive, honest, and experienced", as touted on their ...website, this appointed lawyer did exactly the opposite under the guidance of the firm's owner, a so-called 18-year veteran. Giving me a retainer that says covers all matters related to a divorce, as confirmed by the appointed lawyer, but later requiring separate retainers for related issues; telling me “I was in court two weeks in a row” when asked about why she delayed a response to me for two weeks about the retainer issue; charging me twice for reading the same court transcript by renaming it. INCOMPETENT & INEXPERIENCED - under the guidance of the firm’s owner, this so-called “senior” associate attorney cited a child support rule for an alleged harassment case, provided no legal analysis to support the motion. INACCESSIBLE & CARELESS – instead of a simple reply to my inquiring email, this woman insists on useless conference calls scheduled by her assistant during office hours, even in the face of filing deadlines and even when the court made its unwarranted judgment. Indeed, this woman did nothing but copying and pasting my own certifications, making numerous grammatical and syntactical errors to be corrected by me one after another, but at my cost of $300 per hour, and, not surprisingly, got zero from the court in the end. Actually, it is sub-zero, burning a big hole in my pocket for nothing! Alas, what a waste of time and money with this so-called “senior” associate attorney! So, please be advised accordingly, if you unfortunately have something legal to deal with.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. Unfortunately, we can never guarantee outcomes in family law cases, as there is a great deal of discretion given to judges. I do prefer telephone conferences when dealing with complex legal issues.
