CLIENT AND SUBJECT

Before having read the bio on Louis Barbone I was taken by the consistency and accuracy of the firm, taken aback at the fact that I was alone and married, with no male representation the case against the big corporations seemed to never end, however after meeting and compromising with Jacobs and Barb...one my life is getting back in order, I have been able to pay off creditors and citations with a bright financial future. Thank you Jacobs and Barbone

Superior Attorney and Law Firm

My family is extremely thankful to Lou Barbone and his law firm. He is compassionate towards his clients, but direct and to the point. Lou treated us as though we were part of his team. My family has endured a legal nightmare due to a seriously flawed justice system. Thanks to Lou, we can now move fo...rward. No, Lou is not always available to take calls or return them. He is immersed in numerous serious criminal cases. He is in court or preparing for court 24 hours/7days a week. He has met with us on weekends and during a holiday when deemed necessary. Personally, I prefer a busy attorney who is not available to accept all of my calls. Lou calls when calls are important or he needs to relay information to his clients. He is in high demand and we are thankful that he was willing to take on our case. Lou consistently kept us informed through Teresa, his assistant, when he was not available. She is efficient, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Clearly, Lou is innately driven to win each and every case he argues. Financial gain is not his motive. He is committed to his clients and personally vested in the cases he accepts. Our family will be forever grateful to Lou and his staff.

Best Attorney, Hands Down!

After visiting six different attorneys, all of whom strongly advised against filing suit, I met with Lou. Not only was he genuine, explaining both the pros and the cons of the case at hand, but he was extremely knowledgable, backed by years of superb experience. I don't consider myself an easy client..., but Lou and his staff were always accommodating and took the time to explain the process. Lou ultimately secured me a seven-figure settlement, but best of all, he believed in me from day one. My family and I are eternally grateful for the countless hours Lou spent preparing/litigating this case. Not only did I find myself a lifetime attorney, but I found a lifetime friend. If you are serious about any legal matter, please do not hesitate to speak with the professionals as Jacobs and Barbone.

Does not return phone calls

After my last lawyer lied to me, I pled guilty to lesser charges. However, afterwards the courts decided to upgrade the charges and break the plea deal. I hired this Lou Barbone after the public defenders office refused to take my case. I never pled guilty nor had a trial to the charges. I am trying ...to get the falsified convictions thrown out and trying to get a trial, which the state has been fighting against for 5 years. Barbone said he could get a recording of the hearings. The courts insist I'm not allowed to file any motions and that an attorney must do it despite case law to the contrary, and Mr. Barbone refuses to do so. We call him constantly and he hasn't called back once in the past 2 months despite taking $7500 from us. Despite there not being any plea papers to the charges I'm convicted of, despite the charges listed in the pre-sentence report (which in itself is not what I agreed to) being lesser to what I was convicted to, the courts say the transcripts supercede any other document. Yet, the court also insist that there was no audio recording saved in the record. But Lou Barbone says that all hearings are recorded regardless of whether they are in the record or not and that he would get them on post-conviction relief. He disclosed these promises before we hire him. Be warned, the courts DO NOT record hearings. They can falsify any record they choose. To add insult to injury, the courts decide to add fines after I was falsely sent to prison and then sent those fines to a debt collection agency in Georgia. I asked Barbone to file a motion since these fines were neither part of the plea agreement, nor assessed in the pre-sentence report, nor ordered at sentencing (even in the falsified transcripts), nor am I able to pay them (I had to take out loans to pay Barbone after the court ordered me to hire my own attorney). He refuses to respond and instead sent a letter claiming he didn't know what grounds to file the motion. I will update this record if Lou Barbone ever responds to me.
