He received his Bachelor of Arts with honors and distinction in Political Science from Rutgers University Camden in 1976. While an undergraduate student at Rutgers, Howard was awarded an internship with United States Senator Thomas F. Eagleton in Washington, D.C.

He is also a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association and Camden County Bar Association.

He has been named New Jersey Super Lawyer (General Litigation) each year since 2010 as well as was recognized as Top Attorney (Debt Collection) by SJ Magazine from 2008 to 2010 and Awesome Attorney (Bankruptcy & Creditor-Debtor Rights) by South Jersey Magazine annually since 2011.

Relationship: Worked together on matter
Howard Sobel and I worked together, representing a wife and husband, to successfully settle a substantial motor vehicle personal injury lawsuit on behalf of two senior citizens, whose lives were dramatically affected by injuries from that accident. Howard's attention to detail and his work-ethic is unmatched in the legal community. Howard's reputation as the highest caliber litigator is well known, especially in the fields of commercial contracts, partnership disputes/dissolution, real estate, debt collection and bankruptcy. I have worked with Howard in a variety of legal contexts for almost two decades. I have first-hand knowledge of Howard's first-rate work and I fully endorse his legal talents.
