Description: Client pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of firearm; appealed alleged mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years for being and "armed career criminal" based on three prior alleged "violent felonies." Appealed to Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court, ultimately finding that client only had one prior "violent felony" so was not an "armed career criminal," resulting in reduction of sentence to four years.
