My statement serves as an endorsement of Attorney Edward Shulman’s expertise, professionalism, and character based on our attorney-client relationship developed over the past 4 years.
I will never forget my day in NJ’s immigration court in 2010, when I was exhausted, confused, and perplexed. On th...e one hand my judge was not present; and on the other hand, I was receiving conflicting advice from different people. My intentions were clear and honest, but I needed professional advice that was correct, that mattered, that was timely considering I had limited time on my hands (and the more time that passed, the further I jeopardized my position), and that would ultimately assist my situation.
Attorney Edward was the solution. I believe in God, and also believe good things happen to good people, and what goes around comes around. In court, I did not recognize nor know Attorney Ed – with the aforementioned thoughts and realizations placing me in a deeply stressful situation. I had gone to one of the counters to ask a question, and shortly thereafter amid the tension Attorney Ed asked me if he could see my Notice. I handed him my notice and literally within seconds he provided me accurate advice. Given my stress, at that moment in time I thanked him and took his business card and told him I would like to use his services and call him soon to discuss next steps. This marked the beginning of a genuine and healthy attorney-client relationship.
I listened to Attorney Edward and followed his advice and instructions based on his extensive expertise and knowledge, which proved to be useful later on, but what was most genuine and comforting was that during the entire process he had only mentioned the fee he would charge in helping my case for my immigrant visa petition without demanding an upfront fee back in 2010 – surely, had he asked for an upfront fee, I would have paid at that time as well. But this aspect demonstrated his character. He was there for his clients – his clients concerns and situations truly mattered to him. He always places his clients first. This matters a lot, because as a client I felt I could reach out to him via email or approach him if I wanted to ask him additional questions or convey any concerns or additional information that I may have accidentally missed in communicating to him. Honestly speaking, not every lawyer has this character – surely, clients are their priority, but on their list clients often come second after their own self interests. Attorney Edward’s character and professionalism is what distinguishes him within the big-leagues, and I cannot thank him enough for his genuine character – it goes a very long way indeed. It is also important to mention at this stage other lawyers had quoted a fee of more than double the amount Attorney Edward had quoted, while failing to provide preliminary guidance.
On a positive and concluding note, my interview went as Edward Shulman had suggested and within a month, I received my I-551 and everything was set and clear. Today, this is a rewarding conclusion to my case for both my family and myself – it may seem things would have turned out alright and on a positive note anyway, but as a client not only was I extremely satisfied with the outcome, but I was extremely satisfied with the entire process – a process during which there were extremely stressful times when it seemed like there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Attorney Shulman provided the hope and encouragement that I sought, backed with concrete legal findings and laws based on his expertise. Attorney Edward and his family will always be in my prayers.
