I highly recommend Ms. Weinberger

Ms. Weinberger hwas able to deal with a most difficult situation of 4 years duration, was able to turn around a case in which a previous attorney made serious errors, and advocate in a strong but not hostile fashion with the judge and other attorney. Her approach was completely successful. The chal...lenge was coping with a deliberately malicious x husband who was psychologically abusvie of the children, but disturbed and machiavellian enough to make up consistent lies about the situation. Ms Weinberger's expertise helped us devote attention to the children's feelings. She was tenacious in this focus and over time the father had to back off at the insistence of outside evluators. It was Ms. WEinberger's knowledge of the nuances of family law cases, the best needs of the children, as well as successful litigation practices, that made this case successful with the children getting the utlimate proper protection. Also as an attorney she would always respond within the same day to any phone call or email, even on weekends, thus making me feel not alone in my difficult case

One of the finest family practices in the State / maybe US!

I interviewed a number of top firms in NJ (Barbarito/Frost, Riker/Danzig, Weinberger, etc.) and found Bari Weinberger to be the most knowledgeable, professional, the best judicial advisor as well as personable. I retained their firm and have never looked back on this decision. The firm is highly adm...ired, provides the best counsel and Bari herself is personally involved in my case - something none of the other firms would commit to. She is highly admired in the family law community as I learned, and has authored position papers that other family lawyers use as a guide. She is truly one of the finest examples of representation that any client could retain. I would recommend her unequivocally to all who want to feel secure that their counsel works solely with their best interests in mind while also providing the guidance and advise that only a top law firm could provide. Bari is surrounded by experts who not only compliment her, but extends her ability to provide for support (sometimes around the clock). Her firm is by far the best that can be secured! RA-MSEE

Big firm, second grade attorneys working on your case, ridiculous bills

Weinberger law group handled my divorce case for some time, then I had to switch to another attorney. I was quite pleased with Ms Weinberger's personal attitude and level of knowledge, though she could do a better job of keeping me informed on the situation. I told her from the very beginning tha...t I want to work with her, not random people from her firm, and she agreed. However, again and again people I never heard of were assigned to my case. At times their work was just awful. They tried to convince me to make unreasonable concessions to my wife, misrepresented her lawyer's words, and told me things like "you cannot do it" being unable to explain why I cannot do it, and what kind of catastrophe would happen to me if I go ahead and do it anyway. The documents prepared by those lawyers looked sloppy and were full of minor factual and grammatical mistakes (switching plaintiff and defendant being a typical one). It was difficult to get a clear answer to anything. Communication was a big problem, though I tried to make my questions as specific and clear as possible, and always put them in writing. Finally, I was slapped with a 5 hours bill for preparing a standard discovery (with a usual share of errors, in particular my last name was misspelled). Out of these 5 hours they charged 30 minutes for "reviewing" the adversary's response, failing to notice that this is an exact mirror of what they sent to her, down to fonts and spelling errors. There is no way one can stare at a document for 30 minutes and not realize it is a copy of your own work. I refused to pay the inflated bill and demanded reduction. Also, I refused to pay a bill from a person who I specifically asked NOT to do any work on a particular matter, but they still billed me for **looking at my e-mails!** Ms Weinberger automatically stood behind all ridiculous bills and refused to make any reductions. Finally I left for another attorney and Weinberg Law Group agreed to accept the reduced rate I initially offered. They did not go to arbitration. Bottom line: Bari Weinberger is a good and knowledgeable attorney and a good person, but it is not her who you are going to work with. It is random lawyers from her group that will send ridiculous bills your way and have you pay for correcting their spelling errors.

At Weinberger Law Group, we take careful measures to ensure that every case is managed and communicated with the highest of standards. In addition, our team approach to handling cases benefits our clients by providing them with the attentiveness and responsiveness necessary in this extremely emotional area of law. While we know the identity of the person who posted this review, it is not our intention to disparage him in any way, despite his inaccuracies and misrepresentations. As in every situation, there are two sides to every story. While we are receptive to constructive remarks, we respectfully disagree with the complaints made in this review. Our firm goes above and beyond for every client. We value our clients and work diligently to please them in every way possible. We are a highly reputable firm. Our AV preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell is the highest rating available for any firm. This speaks for itself. Even the writer states that Bari Weinberger is a great attorney.

Relevant or not Attorneys di not even review my documents

I retained Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group after paying extra for a consultation with Bari Weinberger because I was overwhelmed representing myself in a complex divorce. During that meeting, I explained that I had extensive documentation supporting my claims, including time sheets and job journ...als documenting 17 years of work for my wife's company and receipts showing substantial premarital improvements to properties I owned. Bari assured me that subpoenas would be issued for my wife's business records, retirement accounts would be investigated, and every effort would be made to ensure a fair distribution of marital and premarital assets. I paid a $7,500 retainer, and that was the last I heard from Bari. My case was transferred to Dianne Cavaliere. I had virtually no communication with her until shortly before the Intensive Settlement Conference. Despite the information I had previously provided, she never requested or reviewed my documents, and none of this evidence was entered into discovery before the deadline. Important facts were omitted from the Intensive Settlement Statement, including that my wife voluntarily left her employment one year into the marriage. No effort was made to value the family business where I had worked for 17 years, investigate retirement accounts, or subpoena business records. By this point, I had paid more than $24,000. I then learned that discovery had closed and that the documents and subpoenas I had requested from the beginning had never been pursued. Rather than seeking an extension from the court, the firm demanded an additional $25,000 trial retainer before taking further action. Having already lost confidence in the firm's ability to represent me, I terminated the relationship and stopped payment on an $11,000 check. I attempted to work directly with Bari Weinberger to remedy these issues before trial, but her focus was on payment, not fixing the missed discovery. Even after repeated requests, neither attorney reviewed my documents or sought relief from the court. I was ultimately forced to represent myself at trial. Throughout the trial, the judge repeatedly commented that my arguments were sound but required documentary support. Those documents existed and were in my possession, but they had never been reviewed or entered into discovery. As a result, significant claims concerning 17 years of work, the value of the marital home, retirement assets, and my wife's business were never decided on their merits because the supporting evidence was never presented. What I find most troubling is that these attorneys did not enter a single document into discovery on my behalf and, to my knowledge, did not obtain a single document from the opposing party. The only discovery in the file had been produced by a prior attorney at the beginning of the case. My purpose in writing this review is to warn others. Losing a case on the merits is one thing. Losing the opportunity to have your claims fairly considered because your evidence was never reviewed or pursued is something entirely different. No client should have to endure that.
