Attorney Flaherty handled a complicated divorce. There were many facets to it, such as, custody, business evaluation and asset division. A further complication was the involvement of a prior divorce lawyer. Due to Attorney Flaherty's long term experience in coming across many different types of cases, and his strong financial ability, he was able to navigate through many challenges. I would advise any prospective client to allow him to lead, because he knows divorce law above and beyond what would be considered average. Since he has been around for awhile, he also knows many people, such as top-notch forensic accountants, that can provide required assistance. He is a great listener, and will take your concerns under advisement. If the situation warrants, he has no problem being aggressive.

I cannot say enough about how thoroughly satified I am with the services of Atty Jim Flaherty and his entire office staff. The staff is highy competent, empathetic, courteous, professional, personable, and accessible. A phone call or email would always cheerfully be returned promptly, so I was never kept anxiously waiting for a response, or in the dark regarding any issues in my case. I was made to feel like I was a person whose circumstances they truly cared about, rather than just a number or a revenue source. Atty Flaherty was all that his staff was and more. My divorce case lasted almost three years, was extremely complicated, and included a restraining order against my ex-husband for the entire duration, a custody battle requiring my child to have his own lawyer, four court appointed counselors, a bankruptcy filed by my ex-husband during the divorce, and two liens on my home, one from the IRS, both of them on my ex-husband's one-half interest. He coordinated all the interactions of the various lawyers, couselors, depositions, court appearances , etc that were necessary and I was always kept informed. He was never to busy to get back to either through email, or his office or cell phone to update me on the status of my case. His experience , judgement and integrity put the other lawyers to shame. He was never wrong on his predictions as to how he felt an issue would be resolved, on his advise as to what the next action was to pursue, or as to how the settlement would ultimately be resolved. He never talked down to me, and treated me as an equal team player. Before I hired Atty Flaherty, I had another lawyer who had a conflict with another case and could not take my case. It was the best blessing I could have inadvertently gotten. I did not feel this lawyer was truly vested in my case or well-being, felt like I was bothering her and her staff when I called, and never got a prompt response. Dealing with Atty Flaherty and his office staff was a 180 degree turnaround. His demeanor and professionalism make you feel comfortable, at ease and relaxed, at a time which is definitely the most stressful time in your life. I have some friends who are lawyers, and when I needed to find another divorce lawyer I went to them and asked them who they would recommend. Atty Flaherty's name kept coming up as the lawyer most recommended, as they called him "a lawyer's lawyer". After almost three years of dealing with my ex-husband's divorce lawyer, his bankruptcy lawyer, my child's lawyer, the four court appointed counselors , the IRS to resolve the lien on the marital property, and getting the restraining order renewed every 6 months, Atty Flaherty was able to negotiate a very favorable settlement just 12 days before the trial date. I thought for sure we would have to go to trial. I would highly recommend Atty Flaherty to anyone, especially a professional woman, without any reservations. He was well worth the money, and because of his expertise, he saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars . Not only is he a "lawyer's lawyer", he is a people's lawyer.

Mr. Flaherty advised me totally incorrectly to proceed to court for my ex to be in violation of the divorce decree in regards to cohabitation. He took the case hoping probably to bag $6000 for a morning. He had no idea at all what the legal requirements were in this state for that clause to be enforced. After he decided he had spent enough time on the case, he QUIT. Leaving me to hire another attorney to clean up the mess. A terrible lawyer.
