GORDON TROY is an intellectual property attorney. He concentrates his practice on trademark, copyright, unfair competition, Internet and computer law. He also provides general intellectual property counseling and litigation matters. He is counsel to many start-up, micro, and small companies. He has extensive experience representing clients in the emerging information technology and software industries, as well as conventional intellectual property matters.

He is affiliated with attorneys throughout the world to provide comprehensive and cohesive world-wide trademark prosecution, maintenance, renewal, litigation, administrative proceedings-oppositions & cancellations. He has extensive experience with Paris convention filings, International Trademarks, Madrid Protocol, WIPO matters. He has handled many domain related issues, including domain disputes, domain name transactions, Internet issues and Internet disputes.

Prior to moving to Vermont, he worked in the computer industry designing and developing large main frame systems in Chicago and New York. He then worked with boutique law firms in New York learning domestic and international trademark law while representing Fortune100 companies in trademark and unfair competition cases. His firm offers a complete spectrum of intellectual property counseling. With associate attorneys strategically located around the globe and his extensive experience in the software industry, the firm is able to use the latest technologies delivering cost effective representation to its clients.

He received his B.A. degree from Rollins College and J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School in 1986. He is admitted to practice in Vermont , New York , Illinois, District of Columbia, and is a member of the Vermont and American Bar Associations. His practice is located in Charlotte, Vermont where he also resides with his wife, family and horses.
