Mr. Jackson graduated from Bowdoin College, magna cum laude, and attended the University of Maine School of law where he was on the National Moot Court Team and on the editorial board of the Law Review.  Since graduation he has served on the Maine Parole Board and has twice received awards for his pro bono work with the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project. Mr. Jackson is often invited to speak, presenting most recently to the Maine Welfare Directors 2013 meeting.

He and his colleague, Murrough O'Brien, present seminars on the subject of Social Security law for other lawyers.  He is a joint author of the best selling book, Protect and Defend, published by Celebrity Press.  In September 2012 Mr. Jackson was awarded a Quilly Award by the National Academy of Best Selling Authors for his contribution as a joint author.  He has been quoted in USA Today and has appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates around the country, most recently as a guest on the Ben Fox consumer protection show.  He is also listed in Cambridge Who's Who.

In 2013 Mr. Jackson has participated in a series of free clinics for veterans seeking help with disability benefits claim.  He is also one of the lawyers who participated in the formation of a veterans law section of the Maine Bar Association at the Association's annual meeting in June, 2013.
