Ben Krauter grew up in the Lakes Region area, moving to Raymond in 1986. He earned his high school diploma from Hebron Academy in Hebron, Maine. He then traveled to New Orleans to attend undergraduate school at Tulane University, graduating in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Ben then returned to Maine where he attended the University of Maine School of Law, graduating in 2008 with a Juris Doctorate degree. He passed the Maine Bar Exam in 2008 and was admitted to practice law in January of 2009.
Ben began work at a small firm in South Portland before moving out on his own and opening an office in 2010 in Otisfield to provide legal services to under-served rural areas. In 2011 he moved back to Raymond bringing his practice with him. He recently opened Southern Maine Legal Services in North Windham to provide a new kind of legal service to the southern Maine area. Southern Maine Legal Services prides itself on mobile service, providing on-site solutions to your legal needs, and an entirely cloud-based file system in order to have everything necessary to create legal documents anywhere. In addition travel for consultation is a routine part of the practice recognizing the fact that everyone has a busy schedule and may not have the time, money, or ability to travel to meet with a lawyer. Everyone deserves to have access to legal services.
Ben currently lives in Raymond where he grew up. He has twin boys and spends his spare time reading, cycling, modifying cars, and pursuing other hobbies. Ben has been stock car racing since he was 18 years old, and ran this season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough in the Beetle Bug division of Thursday Thunder.
