About me

I am a lawyer in Wellesley, Massachusetts who strives to provide local, national and international clients with large firm quality and responsiveness in a small firm setting.  I work in three three main areas:  business and commercial law, alternative dispute resolution for business and family law ADR.

In addition to serving as outside general counsel to clients in a number of industries, I advise on discrete projects including:

•Business and commercial law

•Contract preparation and review

•Business organizations (business formation and dissolution, including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, representing early stage, venture-backed and established companies)

•Partner and shareholder disputes

•Mergers and acquisitions of private companies

•Business financing and other transactions

•General negotiation advice

Alternative Dispute Resolution:

•Settlement counsel

•Collaborative law (Collaborative business law)

•Faciliitation of group disputes

Family Law:

•Divorce mediation

•Collaborative divorce law

•Review of mediated separation agreements

My litigation practice is limited to a strategic or litigation management mode.  I do not make court appearances.

  • Fran Lochan Whyman

Jeff and I have co-mediated, and I used him to provide advice on a business matter for a divorce agreement I was negotiating. Jeff is a compassionate and creative mediator, and an insightful and skilled business lawyer. Jeff's business law advice helped me reach a settlement that better protected my client's interests in the family business. I highly recommend Jeff.

I refer business disputes to Jeff for thoughtful and experienced resolution outside of court. Recently I referred an employment dispute and heard back in less than a month that the dispute was resolved. I highly recommend Jeff for solution-oriented representation and mediation.
