On Halloween 2012, I was arrested in Milton, MA, and charged with misdemeanor possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute. My case was to be handled in the Quincy courthouse. This was the only time in my life I had ever been arrested, charged with a crime, and in real trouble with the... law; so emotionally and psychologically, this was one of the most difficult situations I have ever had to face. Some additional difficulties included the fact that when they arrested me, the Milton police seized my smartphone, my cash which I had honestly earned from my employer, and my car. The police immediately wasted no time in filing for forfeiture of all my property and cash, with the intention of keeping it permanently. I knew I did not want to take any chances and that I wanted a lawyer with specific experience in the Quincy Courthouse and with handling cases like mine with confidence and efficiency. Even though I was new to the court and I was not familiar with who the good attorneys are in Quincy, I was fortunate enough to have a friend who had a past experience in Quincy court when he had been faced with assault charges. I immediately called this friend and asked him who I should hire to handle my case, and he did not hesitate to highly recommend Attorney Jack Greene. This friend of mine was extremely pleased with the result he had gotten with Jack related to his assault charges and with Jack's handling of his case. This friend told me that Jack had skillfully made use of the evidence in his case (security camera footage, for example) to demonstrate that the assault charges against my friend were false and successfully defeated the charges. My friend also assured me that this prior experience he had with Jack Greene had made it very obvious to my friend that Jack Greene is a very well known and established presence at the Quincy courthouse to others who work there (such as the Quincy prosecutor(s), judge(s), etc.). Also, I found out that prior to Jack beginning his private criminal defense practice, Jack was the district attorney in Boston for several years, an impressive credential because among other things it means Jack has extensive experience trying criminal cases from both sides (prosecution and defense) so he knows what the d.a. has to do in order to prosecute his client and he can skillfully assess the weaknesses in a prosecutor's case. And in spite of the fact that no trustworthy lawyer can ever ethically make absolute guarantees to a client, this experience gives Jack a reliable instinct for what the more probable outcome(s) of his client's case will be. Jack's office was conveniently located walking distance from the Quincy courthouse, practically next door. I took my friend's advice and hired Jack Greene to represent me in my case, and I am so very happy that I did! From beginning to end, I had a thoroughly satisfying experience with Jack. Right from our very first conversation he demonstrated his thoroughly competent knowledge of the legal system and an impressive ability to communicate that knowledge clearly to me as it pertained to my case, what I was facing, and our strategies of approach. My first court date, the pretrial conference, actually ended up being my only court date because Jack had my case resolved by then with a satisfactory deal from the prosecution. Jack got me a CWAF (Continued Without a Finding) that only lasted for 6 months and was completely unsupervised (no drug testing, no meetings of any kind) and he got all of my property back with the exception of half of my cash. Thanks to Jack, I made it through this situation with no convictions, and on the multiple occasions that employers have done background checks on me since this situation happened, all they have seen is a clean record! Within months of the resolution of my case, another friend of mine ended up facing different criminal charges in the Quincy court, and asked me who I had hired. They also ended up extremely happy with Jack!
