Attorney Wax came into my life when I had given up on the legal profession. I remember being in Judge Kramer's court going through a removal procedure. While I told him to make a decision and do what he needed to do, he looked at me and told me that there were good attorneys out there and to look int...o Catholic Charities. Someone at Catholic Charities gave me the telephone number of 3 attorneys, Attorney Wax was among the three. I called all three attorneys and no one was in their office so I left a message. I then called my parents and told them that I was preparing to leave the country because I had been before the judge three times and since I refused to spend any more money on attorneys who just took the money and did nothing, I'd rather begin a new life some place where I would have a new beginning. While I was talking with my parents, attorney Wax called and asked how she could help me. I asked if she could see me that afternoon because I lived an hour and a half from Boston and she agreed. I explained my situation, how I came to the U.S. as a child, I went to school here, I established a family and home. How while applying for a legal status for my husband I find myself being removed from the country because whatever our family attorneys did prior to my adulthood did not help a number of our family members, me being one of them. I was ready to return to a country I knew nothing about with a broken family because my husband is not from my family's native country and I was not about to leave my children behind. After looking over my case, attorney Wax told me what my option were and although she could not guarantee anything, it was most likely that it would work out because I fulfilled the requirements. Her honesty and her noteworthy understanding of the immigration law allowed me to trust her judgment. Today, two years after I had been in front of the immigration judge being removed, I am pleased to say that thanks to Attorney Wax I will have completed my BA and will begin law school in the Fall 2011.
