Before engaging Rachel Self as my immigration lawyer, I met with 3 other lawyers who were pessimistic about my case which left me with a very negative feeling walking out of their offices. I met with Rachel after being referred by a friend and she carefully reviewed the facts of my case and was able... to identify a path that could lead to a resolution of my circumstance. She is very clear and realistic but at the same time positive and has the knowledge and people skills that make things happen for her clients. I can attest to that, having already been successful in passing the first large hurdle in may case. Lucky me that I decided to make one last attempt with a lawyer. If someone will be able to resolve my complicated case, I'm confident it is Rachel. There is only ONE Rachel Self.

Absolutely Amazing

Rachel Self is what I would consider the best lawyer an immigrant can find. I've had terrible experiences when it comes to lawyers. Rachel is different, Rachel is amazing. She is always on top of things, she would answer my calls and e-mails actively, unlike many lawyers I met. she would not hesitate... to make expert recommendation. She pays a great deal of attention to the details of my case. She assured me every step of the way and obviously we won the case. When the case was won and over, I only had one thought on my mind: the first day we met, I sat down with her, nervous..with doubts and scared. I asked her what are my chances here? In which she responded, and mind you, this is the probably the best response I've heard from a lawyer - I will not take your case if I think you'll lose. THAT just blew my mind. I immediately decided that this is the one, this is the lawyer I will place all my bets on and put my trusts in. Why are you still reading this review? Talk to her already!

The best / La Mejor / A Melhor!

I first met Rachel in 2007. I had been charged with a minor thing that caused immigration to find out about me. I had been taken into custody by Immigration and was being held in jail. I was so afraid. From the moment I met her I had faith that even though my case was very, very hard, I was going... to be OK. I loved her honesty and her kindness. She never lied to me and she was always very up front with how the process was going to work. She got me out on bond and then she got my criminal case dismissed. After that we began the immigration fight. I was seeking asylum because I had been persecuted in my home country and was afraid to go back. She prepared an amazing case for me. She got me work authorization while my case was pending and then when we finally went in front of the judge she fought so hard for me. You could tell that the judges and the government lawyers really respected her and her work and I think that really helped me. She had all the evidence to support my case and she was always prepared for everything. She is a very good combination of smart and kind and I always knew she cared very much for me. Immigration cases can be confusing and a case like mine takes a very long time. She always had time to explain things to me and she was always easy to reach. This year, on the day before Thanksgiving, I was granted my asylum. I am now safe and it is all thanks to her. In doing this review I realize that I really don’t have the words to adequately express how grateful I am to her. I do believe with all my heart that if it hadn’t been for Rachel, I would not be here. She saved me. I will always be forever grateful to Rachel and her incredible team for their hard work and dedication to me. She is the absolute BEST.

The best criminal and Immigration specialist

When faced with the situation that I could never imagine in my wildest dreams, I was completely aware that my case was not an easy one with all evidence against me and that too in the county court known for being too harsh in their judgments. However right from the get go, Rachel was compassionate, ...made us feel easy and in turn gained our confidence and trust. I was super impressed how meticulously Rachel put the packet together for the DA, which DA also acknowledged that it was done so well. Rachel listened to us very ardently and noted every small detail. She negotiated with the DA and got the result before hand, where on the court date we just went in and out. Despite being an extremely busy attorney, Rachel always available over the phone and emails. For me the biggest comfort was that I was speaking and working with her directly as opposed to any other person or legal assistant in her office. I always knew that Rachel had my back where she held my hand to help navigate through the labyrinth of Criminal Justice system and Immigration system – by balancing them with excellence and finesse. Rachel has been my advocate in every true sense and word. The results that Rachel got was the best possible option that I could hope for considering the deportation ramifications and delay in my citizenship application. Having worked with many business and immigration attorneys before, for immigration & criminal matters Rachel is the best in her league. Rachel comes with all my highest recommendations.

Rachel Self: “Remarkable and Intelligent”

Rachel’s capabilities go above your standard attorney. She is an extremely experienced, intelligent, and effective counselor, and I was proud to have selected her for my defense in a recent criminal case. At the beginning of my case, I panicked as I didn't know where to turn having been falsely... accused of a crime I knew in my heart that I didn't commit, however, Rachel had the ability to ease some of my fears and always told me that all would be okay. There were many instances where the alleged plaintiff tried to rile things up and while the experience was frustrating, I knew that I shouldn't feed into the other person’s negativity. During the trial, there were many times where Rachel had to remind the judge how the laws worked. She was competent, steadfast, and held her ground throughout it all. Rachel defended me with wisdom, right gut instinct, and through everything, was always just overly positive about the outcome of my case. I can't think of a situation where I wouldn't be most comfortable with Attorney Self. I am so relieved that I selected Rachel as my attorney. If it had been any other way, I am not sure as to whether the outcome would have been the same. Ultimately, I was found Not Guilty on all charges, and I owe everything to Rachel… my life, my happiness, my freedom. You cannot go wrong by selecting Rachel Self as your legal representative. For me, she was worth her weight in gold.
