I just had a similar case in which he lived in Boston and she lived abroad. I represented her and was able obtain a fair settlement despite the distances involved.

The divorce is uncontested. There are no marital assests. The one sticking point is the child support. I am still paying; our daughter is 24 yrs. old. I don't owe the state any $. All $ sent goes directly into a debt card to my husband. How...

Today me and my friend got caught shoplifting at macy's we're both 20 years old. She had over 100$ so she had to deal with the police and I had less than 100$ so I only had to deal with the Macy's Loss Prevention. We were both given envelopes and ...
If you receive the summons call me for a free consultation. Michael 781-815-3950.
You may receive a notice to appear for a clerks hearing but it's unlikely. Macy's is probably just trying to scare you into paying the 500.See question
Some one made a phone call to my company saying I stole a laptop. They interrogated me and made me admit to the stolen product because I was nervous. They told me if I paid $1400, it will be handled internally and will not file a police report. I ...
It's unclear to me what they did to make your admit you stole the laptop. Did they threaten to fire you? Have they fired you? You may have a wrongful termination case against your employer if they are forcing you to pay them in exchange for an admission. On the other hand, if you did steal it, then pay the $1,400.See question
i am [Name Removed by Avvo] and was intimidated and coerced by my attorney, cathy mullins, the judge and ada to plead guilty to a stolen auto charge that the magistrate in a pre-arraignment hearing found no probable cause to pursue. at that magi...
The case was dismissed with "prejudice". Then you cannot be retried unless there is new evidence that comes to light. However, it sounds like the criminal charges were never actually issued against you because it was only a clerks hearing and no formal charges actually issued against you. Therefore, they may be able to bring charges against you. It's certainly something you can fight at the appellate level, if need be.

arrested for possession, have to go to court in a month, just curious if a lawyer is necessary and what is the typical outcome or judgement. First possession charge, but have some prior issues with the law
Your question does not say what kind of drug or your prior record. However, you should have a lawyer with you given the possible penalty. Here is the statutory penalty for marijuana and cocaine possession.
Marijuana possession is governed by M.G.L. 94C Sect. 32C. Marijuana is a class "D" substance. Penalties can lead to up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $500 for first offenders. Second offense can result in up to 2 years and a $2000 fine. First time offenders with no previous convictions can have their case continued without a finding, but face a 1 year loss of license. Possession of less then 1 ounce is a violation only that carries a fine of up to $100. If you are under 18, you are required to attend a drug awareness program. No such violation shall be grounds for denial of student aid.
MGL Chap.94C, Sect.34 govers cocaine possession. Cocaine is a class "B" substance. If you are convicted of cocaine possession for the first time you could face up to 1 year in jail and a fine of up to $1000. You also face an automatic loss of license for 1 year.
