I was hired Attorney Doherty in 2009 for a divorce. I had a lot of hurdles with my ex but I knew Jim was right on it and would take care of the situation.
Even worse than the divorce itself was a custody trial, a parents nightmare. I had so much faith in Jim and Diane (his paralegal) that I was feeling more positive than negative about the trial because I knew that Jim was fighting for me and for the best interest of my son. Jim and Diane put their hearts and sole into that case. Day of trial, he presented the court with facts and the truth and my son is very happy with me today. When we got the news from Jim and Diane my son had such a huge smile on his face that he wanted to call Jim himself and say "thank you" for fighting for him (my son) in court.
A divorce is a scary thing to go thru and I always said Jim was 'my blanket' because he made me feel comfortable and put you as ease thru such a difficult time and was always there for my son and I. Every time I called or email they was always a response right away and always kept you up to date or any info.
I recommended Doherty Law Office to a family member co-worker who had gone thru 2 other lawyers. She hired Jim and became a very happy satisfied client.

Jim was a pleasure to work with. He took care of everything I needed. I thought my ex was going to pull a fast one with issues he brought up in court but Jim had obtained all the necessary documentation to prove my ex was not being truthful. Jim also kept me in the loop with what was necessary and what was not so that I would not incur unnecessary expenses. It was nice during a stressful time to be able to trust and depend on someone to take care of my legal issues.

Mr. Doherty is unique from other divorce lawyers I spoke to during my search for representation. I felt put off by lawyers that didn't seem to recognize the type of counsel I was seeking and how quickly I needed professional guidance. My divorce case was pretty straightforward, but I needed someone I could trust to review my separation agreement and offer advice on my behalf and look out for my best interest. Mr. Doherty immediately understood my situation and offered a practical approach in expediting his review and consultation within just one week. He was incredibly responsive to every phone call or email I sent. I found other lawyers difficult to reach in person or too involved in other cases to effectively work with me. Mr. Doherty was amazing and kind. My in-person consultation with him was straight to the point as he patiently addressed all of my concerns and provided the information I needed to expedite my divorce. Based upon his recognition of the type of counsel I was seeking and straightforward, no nonsense & economical approach, I told him he was my "new best friend". I highly recommend him if your someone like me feeling lost and overwhelmed in the divorce process seeking to work with someone you can really trust.

At a time in my life when I really needed the expertise of legal counsel and also compassion, going through a divorce in New Hampshire, Atty. Doherty was there for me. Every step of the way he kept me informed, through email or by phone. When he sent out or received correspondence, he would email it to me that same day. He welcomed my input and thoughts and guided and advised me with his legal knowledge. I am grateful that he was my attorney and have referred many friends to him and they also were very happy with his services. To find someone who not only knows the law, but also has compassion for his clients is sometimes rare to find in an attorney, but Attorney Doherty was all that and more.

Jim helped me through a tough situation with good advice and timely updates. His office answered all my calls and return phone calls were made when needed to keep me notified.
