My wife just got R.O.R in Osceola county jail, but still has two outstanding warrants, in Seminole county and orange county: How long can Osceola county jail hold her for

Asked about 2 months ago in Criminal Defense

Amir’s answer: She can be held until she is picked up by one of the other counties where the warrant is outstanding. She'll have to either go to each of those counties to address her warrants or you'll need to hire a lawyer to see what can be done to address them with the respective judges to secure her release. It's possible that she may not be eligible for release based on her circumstances, but a more thorough discussion of her cases would be necessary to make that determination.

I was arrested for driving on suspended license after paying over $2000 to fix my liceaned I've had it for a month: I spent over $2000 to reinstate my license after having it for a month the DMV now says it generated a new revocation and as of June 11th will be suspended for 5 years .....how is that possible and is there anything that can be done

Amir’s answer: I have often seen clients work very hard to clear their licenses by paying off fines and fees, taking necessary classes, etc only to learn that something that they did in the process triggered an HTO (Habitual Traffic Offender) suspension. I know it sounds backwards, but I am here to tell you that there are ways to reverse the suspension. I encourage you to speak with several lawyers about if and how you might be able to get the suspension lifted. It's definitely possible, you just have to know how to do it and then get a judge to give you the relief you need to cleat it up.

My wife is in jail in Osceola county jai (has bond)? But has a F.TA out of Seminole county how long do they have to pick her up?: I really don't know what happened, expect it was a traffic stop and she was riding passenger and I guess they asked for her id..

Amir’s answer: Typically, the turnaround from Osceola to Seminole takes place within a matter of days. Things are anything but typical right now, so no one can give you any assurances as to how long it will be before Seminole County picks her up. You might, and I emphasize MIGHT, be able to expedite her transfer and even possibly facilitate her release if you retain a lawyer to address the Seminole matter on an expedited/emergency basis. I encourage you to do so as soon as you can.
