  • I was arrested for my first DUI ever over a year ago....I didn't show up to court. What can I do ?

    Michael’s Answer

When you didn't show up, the judge likely issued a warrant for your arrest. You need to ask that the warrant be recalled and then address the dui charges. You should speak with an attorney to help you.

  • How can i have someone set up a video session with a judge from san diego ca to bakerfield?

    Michael’s Answer

I understand you desire to streamline the process, but the video conference thing is not an option. As Mr. Farina has pointed out, when San Diego is ready to release your husband they will contact Kern County who will then decide whether to have him transported directly to the Kern County Jail, or they will authorized his release on his promise to appear in Kern on a later date to take care of the charges against him. Either way he needs to speak with a local attorney regarding the the local case. I wish you luck.

  • How long does a restraining order go before it has to be refiled because I never got served papers?

    Michael’s Answer

It is hard to say. On the date scheduled for the hearing the judge could dismiss the matter or drop it from calendar, which would let any temporary orders expire and necessitate the refiling, if she still wished to pursue the issue. OR at the hearing the judge could continue the matter and give her a new hearing date so that she has more time to get you served, in which case any temporary orders typically will remain in effect. Restraining orders can have more serious consequences then may be apparent. You should speak with an attorney about the specifics of you matter.
