  • Should I get a lawyer since my dog bit someone?

    Peter’s Answer

Just to clarify your statement above, by hiring an attorney, your neighbor will ultimately be making a claim with your homeowner's insurance policy. The neighbor's attorney has or will be sending you a letter of representation stating their making a claim against you for her injuries from the dog bite which will trigger your insurance coverage for this claim. your insurance carrier will then have a duty to defend you and hire an attorney on your behalf.
