  • How do i go about having my drivers license reinstated?

    Carolina’s Answer

If it is just the one DUI, you should be eligible for an informal hearing. Not all SOS facilities have informal hearing officers, and, perhaps the one you are going to is one of them. Usually informal hearing officers are only available certain days of the week and on a first come first serve basis. Check out the SOS website for a list of locations with informal hearing officers. You may be able to speak with one first and see if they help you with what you need to do because you more than likely have to complete a couple of tasks before being in a position for reinstatement. Many attorneys offer free consultations. If you go in with your Driving abstract, they may tell you what you need to do. It would be a good idea to hire an attorney with experience in informal hearings so that you are prepared. Since it is more than likely an informal hearing, rates are usually pretty reasonable. Just make sure you go with an office that has experience in reinstatement.

No. In fact, there is usually an exception to curfew for work.
