If the custodial parent (father) is now deceased and maternal great grandmother has temporary custody can I still get custody?

Every child custody case is different so it is hard to predict outcomes or chances of winning without knowing all of the history, facts and evidence that will be presented to the court. Did you have any custody or visitation prior to the father passing away? That will likely be a significant factor for the court's consideration.
