Please note the contract price between the owner and contractor must be in exc ess of $2,500.00 or there are no lien rights for subcontractors. (See Florida Stat. 713.02. It is unclear from your question how the lien came about. If the lien falls under the exception of provisions under Fla. Stat. 713.05 then the lien can be foreclosed within a year of its recording. If no action is taken within the year then the lien lapses by operation of law and you will not have to pay it even if you do sell the property.
