Medicare is health insurance offered by the U.S. government for people that fall into one of these groups:

  • are age 65 or older
  • are under age 65 and suffer from certain disabilities, such as permanent kidney failure

With Medicare, you can expect it to partially cover the cost of health care, but it usually doesn't cover all medical expenses or the cost of most long-term care.
