Also known as fever blister, Herpes labialis.

A cold sore is a recurring viral infection of the lips, tongue, and gums, which causes small, painful blisters to form. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, then scab over, and are often accompanied by redness and swelling. Cold sores usually clear up in 10 days to two weeks.
