Federal Debt

The Dept of the Treasury-Financial Management Service has taken responsibility of an alleged debt owed to the military from a contract breach over 6 years ago in 2002. After a year of arguing the validity, even involving my state congresswowen and senator, the answers as to the validity still have not been answered in writing.

I'm now threatened with this going off to a private collection agency, possible administrative garnishment, penalties and interest, etc. In order to avoid a court battle I was interested in settling the debt at a compromised level. They placed me in a pending compromise to be decided once I complete a rather detailed financial statement. I'm considering sending this to them in good faith in order to put this thing behind me at a reduced cost.

My question is: Am I unwittingly giving them information they can use against me or in any way weakening my case by giving them my financial information?

Driver intimidating pedestrian? can this be criminal charge?

I was walking my dog on the sidewalk of busy streets and trying to cross the sidewalk to another block. i was not crossing on a crosswalk though. and there was a car standing on that between road tryin to turn to get on the road, and i was blocekd by the car. so i went around that car and told the driver, "you need to yield to pedestrians, and need to back off your car" the driver opened the window and yelled at me, and said, "shut up and walk" and drove away. I was shocked that he said that and wanted to do something as I feel i was violated as a pedestrian. So my question is if call the police regarding this issues, can they issue him a ticket or criminal charge for initimidating pedestrians? i was doubting cuz the officer was not at the scene and i only saw the car plate number breifly i'm not sure it it's a correct one from my memory. do i even have a right of way on a side walk? or is this just a bad day that i should let go of? Thanks for reading
