Food Stamp Fraud: Harris County Texas. My sister and her ex husband have been commiting food stamp fraud for approximatly 2 years. She started receiving food stamps when they got divorced 4 years ago. 2 years ago they moved back in together. They decide not get remarried because she would lose her food stamps of 750.00 per month for four children. She has no prior record other than CPS allegations and so forth. I believe he does not either other than unpaid parking tickets ect. What are the possible rammifications of them doing this and where can I find in the Texas code possible punishment for them doing this. I am trying to convince them that it is not the right thing tho do and that they make enough money to not do this. What are the steps they can take to make this right?

Please help I am just trying to help our system here.

FALSELY ACCUSED - PART 1 of 4: Violation of child-custody agreement and the denial of due process has victimized our family

FALSELY ACCUSED - PART 1/4

My husband ("K") and his ex-wife ("B") separated in May 2002, after 9 years. "B" - who is 11 years younger than "K" - indicated she wanted to divorce, leave the state of Nebraska, and go live in Virginia with a new boyfriend she had met online.

"B" left her two children for my husband to raise. He was also raising an older daughter from a previous marriage (then 13).

Their children included "J" - "B's" biological daughter from a previous marriage (born 1991), whom my husband helped raise since she was 1y o, and legally adopted at age 5, and daughter "M" - by both "K" and "B" (born 1995). When "B" left Nebraska, "J" was 10 years old and "M" was 6.

In 2003, "B" filed for divorce. The custody agreement provided joint custody to both parents, with "K" retaining primary custody. "B" pays no child support.

During the years "B" lived outside of NE (2002-2007), she rarely called or communicated with the children. The few visits that occurred were sporadic, unscheduled and relatively brief, and always accommodating to "B's" plans.

Both girls visited "B" in Virginia two summers out of the 5 years. During "J's" 6th-grade year (2003-2004), "J" indicated she wished to live with her mother in Virginia. "K" agreed. But that only lasted one year, and both "B" and "J" wanted "J" to return. We agreed only if they both promised "J" would commit to remaining here through high school.

"B's" mother (the girls' maternal grandma) lives in Omaha, and was not happy that "B" left the girls for us to raise. My husband is kind and supportive, yet "B" and her family do not respect "K" or appreciate our roles as the girls' parents. Rather, they have consistently disparaged us to the kids - working behind the scenes to discredit our authority and alienating the girls from "K" by suggesting we have no right to make rules and consequences that displease "J."

After learning of "Ks" situation with his children, I moved to Nebraska from Des Moines. I was concerned that his kids were unmonitored while he worked full time and they were out of school for the summer. I wanted to be closer to him and help any way I could.

After many discussions, the most financially feasible solution was for me to move into the same home -where "K" and I could help each other.

"K" provided for my children (my then15-year-old son "N" and 6-year-old daughter "S"), and I helped maintain the home and family on a daily basis.

I knew the scenario of moving into the same home where the kids had grown up with "B" could present even more challenges than most blended families/step-parents encounter, but alternatives were not readily available. So we moved forward, doing the best we could with what we had.

Indeed the transition was difficult.

The children constantly fought, appeared angry and depressed, oppositional, and out of control. They challenged authority - espec. mine.
They invaded each others' spaces (bedrooms) without consequence, disrespected each others' belongings, argued with parents, never cleaned up after themselves, and had no routine for bedtime, homework, or contributing to home and daily life.

(Had "Nanny 911" been on television at that time, this family would have been a leading candidate. But without the professional help from an outsider, I assumed that role. While often unpleasant and challenging, it also offered great rewards for all of us as events changed for the better).

Eventually, after a few months, there was much improvement in vital areas. No entering siblings' rooms without permission, no random fighting and arguing, discussions/apologies after disagreements, etc.. There was a reasonable set bedtime, especially on school nights, and rules regarding homework each day. Everyone in the family was assigned a daily household job, and we all benefitted from a healthier routine. The family became functional - with each child doing well in school and participating in extra-curricular activities...

TO BE CNTD...

What are possible criminal consequences for real estate fraud

I helped a friend acquire a property with no money down and it has renters. The renters wanting to purchase with a lease purchase agreement. I put the paper work in order, they signed, she signed. Everyone has original copies. I interview several investors and found a good one to pay cash and to purchase the note (and create a WD and etc)and pay off the balance to the lien holder. Prior to all this She asked me how much I wanted, I asked her for $5,000.00 and she said she wanted $6,000.00...and divide the rest equally, so the renters paid $4,000.00 down , which I received and she received $20,000+ from the investor.
She told the renters and signed an affidavit that she never signed the contract and she never knew about the $4,000. So now that the renters are purchasing the house from the investor and she received her monies, the renters now want their $4,000.00 or will charge me with something criminal. I don't know what to do, should I get a criminal or civil attorney?
What kind of documents have to be filed to stop the criminal? So that it will give me time to interveiw attorneys to file some kind of charge for falsifying an affidavit and embarrassment and trying to ruin my reputation.
Not sure of the legal term.

Can striking a person and causing a bloody nose lead to criminal assault charges

About 6 weeks ago I was involved in an incident where I struck another person and the police were called. I was not taken to jail or given a ticket, citation, summons or anything. My information was not taken and I did not sign anything. The other person did go to the hospital for a bloody nose but there was no permanent damage. Can I still be charged with anything or sued?
