lease question

We rent a building for our business and have for 7 years. Our lease is up and now they say we owe 7 years of property taxes. We never even knew that was part of the deal. They say it is in the lease, my question is now that we are moving why is this the first we have ever heard of this? Never mind the fact we are moving b/c the area the building is in has become unsafe. We also had a verbal agreement that our lease began in January and ended in Jan. but they dragged their feet getting the lease to us and now they say it is until April.

PERSONAL JURISDICTION

Filed a Federal Law Suit in the Eastern District of New York. One of the defendants is a business (Incorporation) formed and based in Arizona. They have said that they will motion to have case moved to Arizona & that will create a hardship on me the Plaintiff. Under AZ law the only one who can legal accept service on behalf the business is the Registered Corporate Agent. That is who I had served the complaint to recently to start things off. However while I have both a Federal Question and Diversity to be in Federal Court I do not know if I have everything for the Court to have personal jurisdiction. The Defendant's CIO and Security Officer will be in NYC on Wednesday, Dec 10th at 8:30AM to give a talk. Can I serve him and gain personal service on the business? It might cause him to be embarassed at the show. He might feel harassed and emotional hurt. Will this also create a backlash from his lawyers? Would they have a claim? Could they get the judge to think that I the Plaintiff who is also Pro Se is crazy and out of control. Try to get a restraining order? All of this would be un true. I would hire a process server and let them serve him if this makes sense. I would not say or do anything against him. Please advise - Urgent nature. Thank you!!!

SEEKING LEGAL MALPRACTICE ATTORNEY

I had hired a lawyer who turned out to be recently out of law school to handle a case against a doctor who had done surgery on my nose & breathing issues. The doctor made many mistakes and I am currently in pain & suffering. The lawyer had run the statute of limitations to the point where my case was thrown out. My only recourse now is to file against the attorney & hope to recover against his malpractice insurance and/or him personally. I know that this type of case is like two trials. One to prove the doctor was wrong & I am entitled to X amount of damages and then to claim that against the attorney. I did file in Queens Supreme Court and got an index number I have 120 days to serve the attorney. I did this to preserve my rights and not to have to worry that the statute of limitations would run out on my only last hope my former attorney & his insurance. Is there a lawyer or law firm who can help me. I am not working now. Used to be on 47th Street in NYC in Jewelry/Diamond business and cutter. Have not worked for several years. I am originally from Soviet Union. Speak little English mainly Russian.

I am starting a business in San Antonio Texas and have a few basic questions. I currently have my DBA, EIN and Sales Tax Permit. I am fairly young and am a first generation business owner in my family.
1) How can I add a 2nd DBA to the existing business?
2) If I add a 2nd DBA do I need a 2nd Sales Tax Permit?
3) Does a Sales Tax Permit cover internet sales to other counties, states and countries?

Personal Injury - skating rink

A friend was skating around the outside of the skating rink and another skater (a stranger) crashed into her with a lot of force and caused substantial damage to her leg. She has no medical insurance. Does the skating rink typically have insurance for these types of injuries on the property? Also, does the business have any duty to take a report with the details of the incident and the stranger's name and contact info (since she was too out of commission to get this info on her own)? She is not getting any help from the manager at the skating rink. Many thanks for any advice you can provide.
