The accident happened on Saturday afternoon, when police tried to stop the carjacked Neon for a traffic violation. Instead of stopping, the vehicle's driver reportedly sped off and police chased after the car. The car ran straight through a stop sign and hit the family's pickup truck in which no one was reportedly wearing seatbelts. Carlos Salazar and his wife, Jennifer Salazar driving the pickup suffered major and moderate injuries and were both taken to the same hospital. Four of the family's children were instantly killed and the fifth, Carlos Eric Salazar passed away on Sunday. All three in the stolen car were killed upon impact, media sources revealed and none of these individuals had identification on them. Fox Nnews explains that police chased the car for four miles before it hit the Salazar's vehicle, the occupants of which were on their way to their son's soccer game. The car crash occurred in Dinuba, located in the Central California Valley, near Fresno. ![]() |
