Playboy Hugh Hefner to Divorce Estranged Wife

Renowned Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner filed for divorce on Thursday after a twenty year marriage, according to court documents.

Hefner and his soon-to-be ex-wife, former Playboy Playmate Kimberley Conrad, cited irreconcilable differences in their decision to split, Reuters reports. The couple, who have been separated since January 1998, have two sons together. Since the separation, the sons have been living with their mother in a house adjacent to the infamous Playboy Mansion, where Hefner remained with a host of Playmates.

Hefner told TMZ reporters, "I am happy to be out of the marriage. I only remained married [to Conrad] for the sake of the children, at her request. I am happy to have this behind me."

In court records, the Playboy founder requested that spousal support for Conrad be set at $20,000 per month, which the Associated Press Reports is half of what he paid his wife during their separation. Hefner claimed that he already allocated almost $12 million to her during their 11 year separation.

Court documents attest that Hefner's assets are worth more than $43 million, excluding Playboy stock and property.

During his marriage and separation, Hefner was known to have dated up to 7 women at the same time.
