An Olympic gold medal swimmer was reportedly driving an SUV that collided with another car last night in a car accident were apparently no one was injured.

Michael Phelps, known for winning a record-breaking eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics, was in a Cadillac Escalade and hit a gray Honda Accord in Baltimore, Maryland last night, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the Associated Press. There were two passengers in Phelps' vehicle who were reportedly uninjured as well.

The spokesman said the Olympic swimmer was interviewed by police and it had been determined alcohol was not a factor in the car accident. Though no citations were given, authorities are still investigating the crash and expect to file a report sometime today.

The female driver of the second vehicle was reportedly transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

News providers described Phelps' SUV as having a crumpled hood with the Accord having "considerable damage" on the front driver side, according to the AP.

In 2004, Phelps pleaded guilty to driving while impaired after a Maryland state trooper pulled him over for allegedly running a stop sign. He was sentenced to 18 months probation.ADNFCR-1918-ID-19313604-ADNFCR
