Legal NewsHigh School Basketball Star Dies in Car AccidentMonday, July 20, 2009 at 10:08 AM A 21-year-old Hawaiian woman was killed yesterday after reportedly being ejected from the back of a vehicle during a car accident.
The woman's name has been identified as Alexi "Tati" Beasley and police are reportedly still looking for the driver of the 1993 Nissan pickup truck the woman was riding in who allegedly left the scene of the crime. According to O'ahu police, driver lost control of the truck and hit the concrete barrier on the right side of the Moanalua Freeway near the Ola Lane overpass. Beasley was reportedly riding in the bed of the truck and died at the scene. Police also stated that speeding was a factor in the car accident. Though the truck was left at the scene, the driver fled. Ikaika Beasley, the victim's father, told the Star Bulletin he hopes the driver will eventually turn himself into the police. "As a father, I don't hold anything against that person," he said. "I believe the only way for that person to have peace with themselves is to come forward." ![]() |
