Legal NewsFormer Warrant Singer Arrested For DUIThursday, June 18, 2009 at 01:35 PM The former lead vocalist and songwriter for the glam metal band Warrant was reportedly arrested by Los Angeles police on Wednesday night and charged with a DUI.
Jani Lane, who is probably best known for singing the hit single Cherry Pie, was involved in a car accident at the intersection of Topanga and Ventura Boulevards in the San Fernando Valley at approximately 9:30 p.m., according to police. The reporting officers were initially there to investigate a minor traffic collision. However, after arriving at the scene, the officers allegedly determined that the 45-year-old singer was DUI at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported. Lane was arrested and taken to the Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Division where he was booked for a misdemeanor and is currently being held on $30,000 bail. According to the singer's website, Lane is scheduled to start a summer tour on June 22 in Montreal, Quebec. During a May 18 interview with The Johnny Dare Morning Show, Lane allegedly talked about being a year sober and how he managed to "get straight," Blabbermouth.net reports. "It's just a matter of deciding you're done, in my opinion," Lane reportedly said during the interview. ![]() |
