Courtney Love is being sued for defamation by a fashion designer who says the rocker threatened her life and lied about her online.

Dawn Simorangkir, who goes by the name Boudoir Queen, has sued the former Hole singer for statements she made on the social networking's services MySpace and Twitter and the online art site Etsy.

In addition to the defamation suit, Simorangkir is also suing Love for breach of contract after she says the singer refused to pay for the work she did in designing a clothing line for her last year.

The Associated Press reports that the lawsuit claims Love made the remarks on a number of occasions including calling Simorangkir a "nasty lying hosebag thief" and accusing the designer of being a prostitute and drug addict.

The suit claims Love has caused "irreparable damage" to Simorangkir's reputation, has harmed her business prospect and caused infliction of emotional distress. Simorangkir is seeking unspecified damages with the suit.

Despite the lawsuit, Love continues to use the microblogging site Twitter, with posts - called tweets - being updated at a regular pace.ADNFCR-1918-ID-19099140-ADNFCR
