Big Brother Star in Big Trouble Over Drug Charges

The winner of the reality TV show Big Brother Season 9 has been charged with the intent to distribute 2,000 pills of oxycodone in Massachusetts.

According to court documents, Adam Janiski, who appeared on the CBS show last year, was arrested on Saturday after struggling with police officers at a strip mall in North Reading, the Associated Press reports. Federal prosecutors claim the man was in possession of a sock which contained two plastic bags of oxycodone - a common painkiller that has developed a street-market.

Janiski allegedly met a cooperating government witness at Logan International Airport and produced the sock from his "pelvic area." While struggling with police, court documents say the man threw the pills beneath a nearby car.

Todd Prough, a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration said in court that Janinski, a 31-year-old from Delray Beach, Florida, admitted to using his $500,000 prize from Big Brother to buy thousands of the pain pills which he had been reselling along the East Coast for several months.

The charge of possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute carries a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
