Six women from Connecticut were charged with second degree assault after allegedly attacking a woman during a karaoke performance at a bar.

Leidy Alacantara, a 25-year-old from the town of Stamford, claims that she was left with a chipped tooth, bruises and pulled hair after a group of women attacked her last month during a rendition of A Dios Le Pido, a song by Colombian singer, Juanes, the Associated Press reports.

The woman further alleges the attack began because the six women, all of whom were under the legal drinking age of 21, were "annoyed by" her performance at Bobby Valentine's Sports Gallery Café.

One of the alleged assailants claimed that none of the suspects were drinking and insists that Alacantara, who was drunk, started the melee.

According to the Digital Journal, a man was beaten to death in New York for trying to stop a karaoke fight in 2006 and a gunman killed two men at a karaoke bar in California in 2000.

In Connecticut, a second degree assault conviction carries a prison sentence of one to five years and fines up to $5,000.
