Botox for hyperhydrosis

Dermatology

I suffer from hyperhydrosis and have tried pretty much everything except botox injections. Are they effective? Painful? Covered by most insurances? are there any side effects i should know about? or anything else?

Answered January 25, 2012 09:05. Botox is very effective for most cases of focal hyperhidrosis on the palms, soles, or armpits. Read more about this on the link below. Hurts to get done, but most patients are very pleased with the results. Most insurances require that you try a few other medications such as aluminum chloride and oral anticholinergic medications prior to be being approved for botox (check with your insurance.)
