Though this is not meant to be a how-to guide for completing a VAWA, this will assist the practitioner in putting together a VAWA Petition.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST FOR VAWA PETITION .Evidence of spouse’s U.S. citizenship - Birth certificate; or - U.S. passport; or - Certificate of Naturalization. . Evidence of joint residence with U.S. Citizen spouse - Joint lease or mortgage - Utility bills with names of both spouses . Evidence that Petitioner continues to reside in the U.S. - Current lease - Recent utility bills . Evidence of “good faith" marriage - Marriage license - Birth certificate of children (if applicable) - Statements showing co-mingling of financial resources - Documents showing joint ownership of property - Photographs . Photographs per USCIS specifications (please provide 4 photographs) . Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record (completed by qualified Civil Surgeon) . G-325A Biographic Information . Copy of Petitioner’s passport photo and visa pages . Petitioner’s birth certificate . Divorce decree(s), if applicable . Any evidence of U.S. Citizen spouse’s abuse - Photographs - Police reports - Statements of witnesses(Self Affidavit Is Half The Battle)
