Always tell the truth, but never give a statement to an insurance company or an investigator. Exception: If it is your own insurance company, you may void coverage by not giving a statement. Always get a copy of the statement and everything you sign. Go see the officer after the wreck.

Pictures and Evidence
Get pictures of the vehicles, accident scene and injuries. If a seriour wreck, hire a reconstructionist soon after the wreck. Have him reconstruct the wreck.
If there is a product defect. Keep the vehicle.

Verification of Damages
Get copies of Tax Returns for three years, check stups, Medical bills and Medical Records. The docs and Hospitals should charge very little to get copies.
Return to the doctor. Make sure to memorize each place you hurt and were injured. Remind the doctor on each visit about where you were hurt and if you have continuing pain or embarrassment from your injuries. Concentrate on the effects from this wreck. Do not give him your life story. Do not lie.
