Seek out a Real Estate Attorney FirstIf you are planning on buying or selling real estate, seek out a real estate attorney and arrange for representation before hand. Make arrangements to be able to fax or email a contract to him or her for review before you sign the contract 2
Attorney Review and Approval ContingencyIf you just have to sign the contract before review, then insist on having the contract contingent upon your attorney's review and approval. You can normally have 3 to 5 days to have your real estate attorney review and approve the agreement. Your attorney can even give you the addendum or the wording to put this contingency in the contract. This will allow your attorney to modify the contract after you signed it or get you out of the deal altogether. |
