Sexual Crimes in New York - Child Sexual Offenses - Part 6

Posted by attorney Theodore Robinson

Child Sexual Offender: A child sexual offender is someone who has been convicted of any of the previously mentioned offenses (in prior Parts) with a victim who was less than 15 years old at the time of the offense. It also includes any sexually violent offense (1st or 2nd degree rape; 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree sexual offense), or a 4th degree sexual offense. This definition also includes any offenders convicted of sexual abuse of a minor who is a family member or living in the same household with the offender. Offender: This is an offender who has been convicted of certain other offenses such as sexual offending, like kidnapping or false imprisonment of a minor, violations of the child pornography statutes and certain prostitution laws. These laws are specifically intended to stop pimps and intenet pornography users when they are involved with children or images of children.
