PUT YOUR SEAT BELT ON WHEN DRIVING IN FLORIDA- OR POLICE MAY STOP YOU!A bill to be entitled An act relating to safety belt law enforcement; creating the Dori Slosberg and Katie Marchetti Safety Belt Law; amending s. 316.614, F.S.; deleting a requirement for enforcement of the Florida Safety Belt Law as a secondary action; providing an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: This act may be cited as the “Dori Slosberg and Katie Marchetti Safety Belt Law.” Section 2. Subsection (8) of section 316.614, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 15 316.614 Safety belt usage.— Any person who violates the provisions of this section commits a nonmoving violation, punishable as provided in chapter GOES INTO ACTION JULY 1, 2009 2
