Dogs classified as Nuisance

Under Ohio's new law a dog will be determined to be a nuisance, regardless of Breed if the following is true: "The dog has chased or attempted to bite a person while off its premises." There are some minimal responsibilities for the owner under this classification.

Dogs classified as dangerous

Under Ohio's new law a dog will be determined to be dangerous, regardless of Breed if the following is true: "The dog has caused injury to a person, or killed another dog, without provocation." Own a dog under this classification and you have some serious responsibilities including insurance etc. Keep up to date on what you need to do-even when you give the dog away!

Dogs classified as vicious

Under Ohio's new law a dog will be determined to be vicious, regardless of Breed if the following is true: "The dog has killed or seriously injured a person without provocation." Ownership of a dog that has been determined to be vicious requires insurance and security measures. This classification must be made based on the dogs individual nature and can apply to any breed.
