Will I lose my driver's license

You will have to fight to defend your license if you have been arrested for DUI. You must request a hearing to fight the license suspension within 20 days of your arrest. It is a good idea to fight the suspension even if you think you have a weak case. DUI lawyer Justin Elsner can assist you with the hearing.

What happens at my first court appearance

Whether you have been given a criminal citation with a notice to appear in court or a summons to appear was mailed to you by the court you must appear in court when ordered. At this first hearing, called the arraignment, you will be advised of the charges against you and the judge will set conditions of your release. These conditions can vary greatly depending on the facts of your case and your criminal history so it is important to be represented by a DUI lawyer at this hearing.

The Washington Department of Licensing website will provide you information on requesting a hearing and teh Washington Courts website provides information on the consequences of DUIs.
