Call an attorney. Just a whiplash injury can bring some serious challenges to your life. An attorney can help you find someone to treat you. They can manage your health care expenses. They can monitor your recovery. Last, we usually try and settle the case before filing a law suit.

I was injured in a minor car accident and need to know what to do.

Get medical attention for serious health conditions. Even plaintiffs have a duty to mitigate their damages. An attorney may be able to get you treatment on a lien, which means the treating health care professional will get paid if and when the case is resolved. This way you can minimize some of your damages.

Go to an attorney for a free consultation

Call some law firms and discuss your situation with them. Not all attorneys will look at a case the same.

Additional Resources

You can go to the San Diego Superior Court and see the rules and procedures for a small claims case, if you cannot settle and cannot find an attorney. They have a panel to advise you of how to file a case. http://www.sdcourt.ca.gov/portal/page?_pageid=55,1&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
