DuPage County CourthouseThe main court in the county is in Wheaton, at 505 N. County Farm Road. Approximately 40 judges make decisions on cases ranging from divorce to contracts. The DuPage court system has different divisions for different types of cases, but almost all of them are handled at the Wheaton courthouse. 2
DuPage County AttorneysIf you have a case in DuPage County, or if you think you might, I recommend finding a local attorney. Attorneys who are located in the county are better equipped, in my opinion, to represent you. Local attorneys often have established relationships with other attorneys and with judges, both of which could work in your favor. 3
ExceptionsThere are always exceptions. If you have a complex medical malpractice lawsuit that requires a lawyer with a lot of resources, I'd probably recommend a Chicago firm. If you have a case that is rare, I'd probably recommend an attorney who has handled that kind of case before, regardless of where they are located. Additional ResourcesI've established a strong network of attorneys in DuPage County who have solid reputations in their areas of law. If you need a referral, contact us.
