Dear Highway Safety Advocate:
The N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program is launching a new web-based grant system this spring that will impact the 2012 grant application process. Grants through GHSP will only be available using this new online system.
This new system will streamline current procedures and allow users to apply online, view the status of an application, claims and changes to a contract at any time. This will reduce paperwork and allow for data to be submitted electronically.
In order to use this new system each user will be required to have a user name and password. To secure this for your agency the enclosed form must be completed and returned to GHSP. This user name and password is NOT agency specific, each person that will be using the system must have their own user name and password.
We anticipate launching this system in April. The deadline for applications will be extended this year due to the system launch and is tentatively set for April 29, 2011. More information about the new system will be available on the GHSP website, with information being added as it becomes available. Please check it often as dates, reminders and helpful documents will be added in the near future.
Thank you in advance for you cooperation during this transition. Regards,
Don Nail
Assistant Director
